Swimming pool
We have a large, olympic size swimming pool (25m x 15m) with a smaller pool for children, where you can enjoy a nice cocktail and relax after a tiring day out. We also serve lunch by the poolside tables, and every day at sunset it is time for an aperitif.
Tennis
There is an artificial grass tennis court on our premises, with lighting also at night.
Wine tour
Murlo is strategically located between the Chianti Classico area and Montalcino, where the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino (often named the best wine in the world) is produced. Several local wineries and farms organize wine tastings and are happy to present their products to visitors: after all, there is nothing better than a glass of Brunello and a slice of pecorino di Pienza!
The hotel can recommend a number of wineries nearby for those curious to discover the secrets of making excellent wine.
Hot springs
Mount Amiata, which rises above the hills of Val d’Orcia is an extinct volcano, but its internal activities haven’t completely seized. Therefore several hot water springs can be found in the territory, offering the relaxing possibility to take a bath in the natural sulfuric hot water with numerous healing properties. One of the hottest springs, Petriolo, is only a 15 minutes drive and 12 km from Murlo. But there are also many others that have been used since the times of the Roman Empire, such as Bagno Vignoni, Saturnia, Bagni San Filippo and many more.
You can either choose a free public bath and enjoy the water outside in the middle of nature, or opt for a spa and pamper yourself with massages, turkish bath and all kinds of health and beauty treatments. We are partners with the Petriolo bath resort and therefore, if you wish to spend a lovely day at the spa, you can simply ask for a client discount at the reception!.
Healing waters
The Baths of Petriolo are powered from a single source of water rich in sulfur and carbon that flows at a constant temperature of 43 C °. The physical and chemical analysis have given consistent results, indicating the presence of a large amount of minerals, each perfect for different kinds of health treatments, from mud baths to inhalations.
The adjacent Petriolo Health Spa offers a wide range of services and treatments also for those suffering from rheumatic diseases, fractures and different kinds of muscular and joint pains. The water itself is perfect for those with skin problems, like psoriasis or acne, being as it is very rich in sulphur. One can also choose from a variety of facial treatments, massages, mud baths, anti-cellulite treatments and many others. The recently opened establishment is equipped with all facilities for the use of thermal water in a personalized manner, able to make it even more effective than a traditional bath, extending to the dermo-cosmetic and natural medicine.
The new parking lot makes reaching the spa easier and the area is equipped with picnic tables. There is also the opportunity to swim in a river or a walk along the banks, making this place even more inviting for those who appreciate the combination of “health and environment.”
