From Monteroni d'Arbia to Buonconvento: The provincial road n. 34 of Murlo takes to Lupompesi, Vescovado di Murlo, Murlo Castello and Miniere (the old mining village), from where the path of the old railway takes to La Befa; continuing after the village of La Befa you are in the area of Buonconvento. N. 1: "Vecchia Ferrovia" (Old Railway) distance: 8,900 metres; time: 2h 15min accessibility: mountain bike, horse, foot Starting from the village of Casanova near Casciano and crossing the Rospatoio (512 metres a.s.l.), the path follows a ridge covered by Mediterranean vegetation until the village of Olivello, from where it descends towards Miniere di Murlo (old mining village). N. 3:
"Casenovole-Vignali-Murlo" distance: 4,800 metres; time: 1h 15min accessibility: mountain bike, horse, foot The path begins along the S.P. road from Murlo to Buonconvento, on a large gravel road with a sign pointing "Montepertuso". Passing by the old farmhouses of Montorgiali and Montorgialino, among woodlands and pastures, an old lime-kiln is met, a very good example of former activities in the area. The path continues through Quato and Montepertuso and from this extremely panoramic settlement it descends to La Befa.
N. 5:
"Vignali-Miniere-Montorgiali" distance: 4,500 metres; time: 1h 10min accessibility: mountain bike, horse, foot Starting from Quato, the path goes by the village of Pompana and, crossing the Rigagliano stream, continues on the main road to La Befa.
N. 7: "Resi-Apparita-Molino della Befa" distance: 7,200 metres; time: 1h 50min accessibility: mountain bike, horse, foot From the town of Casciano along the main road through the small hamlets of Poggio Brucoli, Poggio Lodoli and Santo Stefano you get to Vallerano and from here, crossing the Basso Merse Nature Reserve, you get to Montepescini.
N. 9:
"Montepescini-Terme di Petriolo" distance: 8,000 metres; time: 2h accessibility: mountain bike, horse, foot From the small village of La Befa, crossing the Crevole stream and the railway Siena-Monte Antico, you get to San Giusto, from where you reach the farm of La Pieve and then the paved road to Montepescini.
N. 11:
"Olivello-Campotrogoli-Conventaccio-Campopalazzi-Vallerano" distance: 1,300 metres; time: 20min accessibility: mountain bike, horse, foot Starting from San Giusto, a road crossing the Natural Riserve of Basso Merse takes to Campotrogoli and from here is connected to the paths for Montepescini or Miniere.

"La Cucculeggia-Viamaggio" distance: 450 metres; time: 15min accessibilità: trekking This short path, starting along the main road to Casciano, takes to the ruins of the old Castle of Crevole. |
